Course Overview
Civil engineering is the design and construction of public works, such as dams, bridges and other large infrastructure projects. It is one of the oldest branches of engineering, dating back to when people first started living in permanent settlements and began shaping their environments to suit their needs.
Civil engineering is arguably the oldest engineering discipline. It deals with the built environment and can be dated to the first time someone placed a roof over his or her head or laid a tree trunk across a river to make it easier to get across.

Course Requirement
- Birth certificate
- 6 passport photo and two plastic files (blue, green)
- A minimum of 5 credit at not more than 2 seating in WAEC, NECO, or GCE (including mathematics and English and any other 3 departmental subjects)
- A copy of the applicant’s international passport or ID. Card.
- Medical report
- Master's degree/postgraduate certificate

In 2010, the name was changed to POMA UNIVERSITY when it was authorized and accredited by the government of Republic of Benin.
PU has extended to other developed countries in the world. Today PU is leading open international academic centre. PU is a self-governed community of scholars. The University comprises of various Colleges, Departments, Faculties, Schools and Professional Institutions.
